This privacy policy applies to the Confyde app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Forged By Atlas (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Commercial service.
Confyde is built around a privacy-first principle: your journal entries stay on your device. The Service Provider does not operate any servers that store, log, or analyze your journal content, mood data, or usage patterns.
The Application stores the following data locally on your device:
This data is stored exclusively in a local database on your device and is never transmitted to the Service Provider.
The Application does not collect:
The Application offers optional AI-powered features (Weekly Reflection and Daily Deep Dive) that analyze your journal entries to surface emotional patterns and insights. When you actively request one of these features, the relevant journal entries from the requested timeframe are transmitted to an AI provider configured by the Service Provider, accessed through OpenRouter. The current provider may change as the Application is updated. All providers used are bound by API terms that prohibit using customer API data for model training. Entries are not transmitted to AI providers at any other time. The transmission only occurs when you explicitly tap "Generate AI reflection" or "Start deep dive." You can use the Application without ever using AI features. If you never request a reflection or deep dive, no journal data ever leaves your device.
The Application collects anonymized product analytics and crash reports to help the Service Provider improve the Application:
Both services are configured to collect the minimum data needed to improve the Application. Neither service receives, stores, or processes your journal entries.
The Application uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect anonymized device identifiers and subscription transaction data necessary to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your journal content. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details on what they collect.
The Application uses the following third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
The Service Provider does not store your journal data on its own servers and therefore cannot disclose it to third parties. The Service Provider may disclose limited subscription or contact information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process; or when the Service Provider believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Because all journal data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
Journal data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Application. The Service Provider does not retain copies of your journal data. AI processing partners retain data per their own retention policies (typically not retained beyond the duration needed to fulfill your request).
The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used the Application, please contact the Service Provider at forgedbyatlas@proton.me to discuss data deletion (note that all journal data is stored locally on the child's device and can be deleted by uninstalling the Application or using the in-app "Delete all data" option).
The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect any data transmitted to AI processing partners, using HTTPS encryption for all network traffic. Your locally stored data is protected by your device's standard security mechanisms (including optional Lock if you enable it in Settings).
If you are accessing the Application from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be processed by AI partners whose servers may be located in the United States. By using AI features, you consent to this transfer. Anonymized analytics and crash data may also be processed by PostHog and Sentry on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Users in the European Union have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because all journal data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly through the Application's data controls.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this document within the Application. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes; continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
